About Us

Cheng Media Services LLC acquired the Tucson branch of Flickos Video Services in November 2016, and was integrated into it. As the franchise dissolved in 2023, we kept the business open for a year, and created a new brand for it, but it failed. We thank all of the satisfied customers through our 7 year run in business.

We dedicated to serve the community by helping in their media needs, whether that was rescuing old films, video footage or audio, or just in general awareness in the importance of family through rekindling precious memories.

Our mission statement: “Bringing joy through returning precious memories to everyone.”

As for the founders:

David Cheng founded Cheng Media Productions LLC (CMP) in 2008, after graduating from Temple University with a B.A. in Communications. He started working in various video project when he moved to Tucson that same year, mainly with Pima Community College, with Access Tucson, and with the local community. Many of them are in the Projects tab above. He then pursued a Master’s Degree in Education Media Design & Technology and graduated from Fullsail University in 2011. He then moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 2012, and put CMP on hold.

In 2015, he decided to dust off the business folder, and changed the company name to Cheng Media Services LLC (CMS), to reflect the emphasis for service, instead of just productions. He then moved back to Tucson in 2016 to grow the business.

In 2023 David decided to live his dream of working for the government and left the business in the care of his employees until 2024, in which the economic downturn and lack of customers created a bad situation, and eventually the store shut down in July 2024.

Inez Whipple became a CMS’s member in 2016. She later retired in 2022 to pursue her dream to travel around the US.
