BIOGRAPHY

A highly proficient instructional designer and media producer who has worked for over eight years with state and community colleges to grow their online course programs, using the latest in technology and maintaining state standards, and accessibility. As part of this proficiency, David has worked with many learning management systems, including Blackboard, Canvas, and Desire2Learn; and with audio/video tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Captivate, and Adobe After Effects. David is also proficient with Quality Matters, which are standards of quality assurance that are shared with most online programs in the nation. One of David’s best qualities is that he can analyze a problem, and find creative and realistic solutions, no matter the difficulties.

David holds a Masters of Science in Instructional Design (EMDT) from Full Sail University, a Bachelors of Arts in Communications and Mass Media from Temple University, an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts, and an Associate in Applied Science in Educational Technology from Reading Area Community College.   • In cooperation with other staff, coordinates pre-production and production planning activities; conducts field-based video production which involves interacting with clients and operating/ensuring all portable video and audio equipment is assigned; transports and sets up lighting and audio equipment as required; provides limited troubleshooting and maintenance of field production equipment.
  • Performs videographer duties as required; Videos and sets up on location lighting for high-level management and Directors.
  • Determines and coordinates job assignments for best possible camera angles, lighting setups, and outcomes; Works with clients to determine the best possible video options for a smooth and excellent outcome.
  • Uses Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro to create and provide cover slides and trailers for all video jobs that are assigned; Loads cover slides developed into the Anycast and other video switchers being used for the event.
  • Regularly demonstrates camera skills and techniques; This involves setting up cameras on location, balancing and leveling the cameras on tripods, white balancing, color correcting, focus manually or on autofocus; These procedures also apply to all EMB fixed camera locations in the various buildings and rooms; Presets camera positions and map out shooting sequence.
  • Performs regular equipment operational checks on all video equipment; Checks for non-functioning or broken items and reports to Supervisor and Engineer.
  • Plans and performs video post-production tasks which include reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, tape logging, and rough cuts; Makes audio adjustments, color corrections, and final editing using all resources available to ensure the project is complete.
  • Utilizes computer graphics and special effects for video post-production according to the overall production concepts; compresses video projects for output; captures recorded video using software and encodes media as appropriate; makes video products available in a variety of formats.
  • Controls the artistic and creative aspects of the productions and/or oversees all post-production processes associated with pre-recorded productions.
